FAQ for the Exhibitors/Sponsors

Q1. How many delegates can Exhibitors/Sponsors send?

A. Can send up to 5 delegates.  Please send their names and any dietary requirements to pee21@sheffield.ac.uk or unimaker@sheffield.ac.uk 

Q2. How big is the Goods lift for taking up equipment at the Diamond?

A. The lift doorway is 110cm wide by 210cm high and the lift is 270cm deep. 300cm length is possible by using the diagonal if the item is not too wide.

Q3. During the poster presentation session, what is the time limit of my presentation?

A. 3 minutes and one person from each exhibitor/sponsor will speak.

Q4. Will a table be provided for the display of the equipment?

A. Yes tables will be provided.

Q5. Will bins be provided?

A. Yes they will be provided beside each exhibitors.

Q6. Can we access power?

A. Yes, extension leads will be provided

Q7. Will I have access to the wifi?

A. Yes guest wifi will be provided

Q8. Can we store stuff securely overnight?

A. Yes, there are separate access restricted rooms for equipment storage provided.

Q9.  What are the access arrangements for drop off and collection at the building?

Health and Safety

We encourage you to wear face covering at all times apart from when you are eating or drinking.  We can provide you with a spare face covering if you lose your own.

Please maintain 1m social distancing at all times.

Please follow the one-way systems that are in place throughout the building.

If you are feeling unwell or displaying a Covid related symptoms, please do not attend the conference.

Prior to attending the conference, please complete a Lateral Flow Test.  If the result is positive then please do not attend and get yourself a PCR test.

On Wednesday 15 September, there will be a fire alarm test between 10.30-11.30am

If you hear the fire alarm at any other time, please evacuate the building and gather at St George’s Church.

Getting Here

Getting around on foot

Sheffield is a very pedestrian-friendly city, and you’ll find the train station, most hotels, and the conference location are all within walking distance of each other.

The Practical Engineering Education Conference PEE21 and Unimaker will be held in the Diamond Building in Sheffield, S3 7RD, UK. Sheffield also has several convenient transportation options:

Supertram

The Sheffield Supertram crosses through the heart of the city, it stops near the Diamond building (University of Sheffield stop). You do not need a ticket before you enter the Supertram; there is a controller inside of each tram to collect the fare (day tickets are available).

Taxi

Sheffield has several taxi stands throughout the city; there is a taxi stand at the front entrance of the train station and many other places in the city centre. Taxis can also be reserved with City Taxi Sheffield (+44 114 239 3939) or another taxi company.

Bus

Sheffield has a number of bus services that travel through the city centre and the suburbs. Glossop Road/Regent Terrace on west street and Broad Lane/Beet Street are the closest bus stops with lots of buses including 51, 52, 30a, 120, 257, 271, X57, X30, 10, 95 and  181

Car

Sheffield has some parking options; when booking your hotel, consider their parking possibilities and also consider walking or using public transportation to get around – it may be easier than you think.

There are a few options for parking near the Diamond Building, e.g. Q-Park Rockingham Street, Q-Park, Durham Rd or the NCP Solly Street.
